A hoosier classic. Goes well with your holiday treats, or during a Summer cookout. The rich, creamy filling of a sugar cream pie is a perfect complement to the sweet, buttery crust. The pie is best served warm, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting on top, creating a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. The aroma of the pie baking in the oven is enough to make your mouth water, and the sight of the golden-brown crust and the glossy, smooth filling is enough to make your eyes water with anticipation. The pie is a true comfort food, and it's easy to see why it's a favorite among Hoosiers.

Ingredients

Pie Crust

  • • 4 Tbsp cornstarch
  • • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • • 4 Tbsp butter, melted
  • • 2 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • • 1 Tbsp vanilla

Topping

  • • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • • 1 tsp cinnamon sugar

  2. 2.Mix cornstarch & sugar in a small bowl until combined.
  3. 3.In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the cornstarch mixture, melted butter, & heavy cream to a boil, stirring constantly until thickened.

  5. 5.Top with melted butter and evenly sprinkle the desired amount of cinnamon sugar.
  6. 6.Bake for 25 minutes and broil for 1 minute.
  7. 7.Cool until room temperature and place in the fridge to set for at least 1 hour.
